Grilled Portobello Mushroom Burgers

  • 4 portabello mushrooms cleaned and prepared
  • olive oil
  • garlic powder
  • salt
  • pepper
  • balsamic vinegar
  • 4 slices of provolone cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • lettuce
  1. Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping with a soft cloth.
  2. Remove the mushroom gills by scraping with a spoon.
  3. Cap side down, drizzle mushrooms with olive oil, rub to coat evenly and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Turn mushrooms over and drizzle again with olive oil.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and a light sprinkle of garlic powder.
  6. Drizzle 1 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar over each mushroom.
  7. Place on grill (cap side up) over medium hot heat for 5 minutes.
  8. Flip over and grill an additional 5 minutes.
  9. Top with provolone cheese during the last minute of grilling.
  10. Serve on buttered and grilled buns with lettuce and tomato and enjoy!
