I need to learn to say NO.
“Mom, can you make cupcakes for my class’ party?”
“Of course darlin’.”
Then it dawned on me.
Her school “class” is around 500 kids!
*blink-blink*
So after I sent a panicked email to the homeroom mom
my fears were subsided when she wrote back
“I only need 48.”
Are those angels singing?….
Now that I had accomplished a batch of the
Christmas Ornament Cupcakes
I knew some colored ornaments would be a cinch to make.
You too can follow a step by step tutorial on how to make them.
Just click here.
If you’ve made some already then I’d love to hear your feedback!
Also let me know if you have any questions.

I fondly remember enjoying decorated cupcakes and singing carols at parties way back when I was a youngster in elementary school. My mother rarely baked, so I looked forward to having a sweet treat at school parties! I still have the little Christmas carol songbook that a thoughtful homeroom mom gave to each child when I was in third grade!

I would imagine that for years to come, more than one of those lucky students in your child’s class will fondly remember enjoying your fabulous, festive cupcakes!

Hahahaah! When my son saw me looking at the white ones, he immediately volunteered me me to make those for his class party the next day! Luckily I only needed 25. But I also made some minis with the leftover batter and hershey’s kisses. They were a hit!

does the buttercream icing refrigerate ok? I would love to make it ahead of time. Thanks.

Megsy- Absolutely! Just place plastic wrap directly on the frosting. Let it sit out for about 20 min and give it a quick whip with an electric mixer before icing. If you aren’t concerned about ultra-white frosting then feel free to use half butter and half crisco. Your flavor will be far richer but it will take on a more golden hue, especially if you add a dash of vanilla too! Oh, I want frosting now….

I love these!! I want to make the little dog cupcakes you also created, when it’s my daughter’s birthday. (She’s a dog-aholic.) You’re so fun!

I made 21 for Christmas and they were a huge hit! Everyone kept telling me that the icing was the best they ever tasted! I’ll never use store bought again!
