S.O.S. Help! I find myself in a quandary. We’ve lived in our dream home for almost four years and the decorating is still not finished. (Gasp!!) That isn’t the problem though. The dilemma is that I’m now sick of the color scheme I chose years ago, shades of gold, rich red accents, and browns for the first floor. This last year I started moving into cooler shades of blues and sandy naturals for the second level. Attempting to mesh the two color schemes has been difficult, so today the search for a fabric that could meld the warmth of gold with the soft, watery blues began. Here are some fabric swatches that might work found on Fabric.com.

I’d like to mix in more modern prints with my existing traditional choices. Never trust your computer monitor to give you accurate color images. I’ll have to order swatches to be completely sure before deciding. Below are the colors on the lower level; walls painted in SW Ivoire, SW Blonde, SW Meadowlark, and crimson accents and fabrics. These colors don’t really look very accurate on my monitor either…oh well.
The upstairs color scheme is painted in SW Sea Salt, SW Rainwashed, BM Atmospheric, and SW Urban Putty. The kids rooms are bright and fun colors chosen by them and no way am I about to attempt to blend in their schemes!!
The red is the problem I’ve decided. The red is in the drapes, furniture, rugs, and artwork. Little touches are everywhere, so eliminating red completely is just not in the budget. I need a fabric that would incorporate golds, blues, and a teeny touch of the red, but I can’t find one.
If you know of a fabric pattern that’ll accomplish that PLEASE share it with me!!
I’d also love to hear where you love to find your fabrics!
